SEO Companies using ethical techniques want me on google page 1

I’ve recently been getting requests from people using the contact form on my blog network small collection of blogs offering to get my sites to page 1 of google.  Here are the emails:

Contact name: Robert Karlson
Contact email: [email protected]

Internet Marketing Services

We would like to get your website on first page of Google.

All of our processes use the most ethical “white hat” Search Engine Optimization techniques that will not get your website banned or penalized.
Please reply and I would be happy to send you a proposal.

The following email came from [email protected] though they say that their page is www.google.com – a little white lie me thinks.

order to discuss the possibility in further detail.

I wonder if their ethical white hat techniques that will not get the sites banned or penalised include using xrumer or other automated contact form spamming software.  I wouldnt have thought so, looking at their emails they look very professional.  What do you think?

How to replace a floppy drive in a yamaha EL90 with a USB drive

I’m afraid I dont know how to do this, but I do know that there is a drive available which is a direct replacement. If you’ve found this article it’s likely that you have an older EL series organ that has issues with the floppy drive. Yamaha, in their infinate wisdom, chose to use a non standard 3.5″ drive that costs £100+ for the early EL series (EL60, EL70 and EL90). Why couldnt Yamaha have used a standard 3.5″ PC floppy drive on these organs? Who knows?

Recently this post offered a solution for modifying a standard PC disk drive with a few componants and a bit of soldering, but I dont really want to go this route.

Then I found out about EL-USB, a replacement drive that takes USB sticks. Finding any information about this drive is pretty difficult as most of the sites are in chinese, here is one example: http://www.gangqinwang.com/news.piano?id=4697 . I’ve also seen the drive on ebay.com.hk but unfortunately the auctions that I found had finished.

If anyone has any information on the EL-USB or are after one as well please post a comment.

WordPress hotlink prevention plugin

One of the things that I got from Think Visibility was Patrick Altoft‘s idea of getting links back to a blog by using a bit of javascript that presents links to a user when they right click on an image – right click on the image below for a demonstration.

Quick Think Visibility Recap

I’ve wanted to go to a conference for a little while now, although the nearest one (a4u expo) seemed a bit too much. When I signed up for thinkvisibility, I knew I was getting a bargain – I mean, £30 for a day of talks and networking is a no brainer.
